Biography
Dr. Robert A. Zambanini, Jr. (a.k.a. "Dr.Z.") is a Associate Teaching Professor in Computer Science at Penn State Berks who also teaches a vast array of courses in Engineering, Mathematics, and IST. Zambanini was previously employed as a Mechanical Engineer at AT&T Bell Labs and AT&T Microelectroncis from 1987-1991. A former Eagle Scout, he enjoys hiking and highpointing and is a talented shortstop for his slow-pitch softball team. A musician, who plays as many as ten different instruments, Zambanini is also the Director of Music for his church ( Most Blessed Sacrament RCC in Bally), where he directs the Adult Choir, leads the Guitar Group, assists with the Young People's Choir and plays organ for weddings. Zambanini is also a fanatical follower of the Boyertown Bears Legion Baseball team, which he covers for the local newspaper in the summer, and for which he currently coordinates Public Address Announcers for home games at Bear Stadium. His intellectual interests include programming, optimization, and statistical analysis. He and his wife, Luann, are the proud parents of their daughter Katarina.
